    - What are the benefits from MNP?
- With MNP you are free to choose a new mobile service provider without having to change to a new number. So with MNP you don't have to notify your friends or family about your new operator when you move to Vodafone or any other operator.
    - What is porting of numbers and what are the charges for porting a number to Vodafone?
- Porting of numbers is the actual switching of a mobile service provider without having to change your actual mobile number. With MNP only active mobile numbers can be ported, so you do not have your number disconnected before porting. The charges are Rs 19 for Mobile Number Portability.
    - How long does it take to port a number?
- Usually the entire process of porting takes approximately 6 days. The exceptions are J&K, Assam & the North Eastern regions where it will take 10 days from the receipt of porting clearance from the operator that you are leaving. But the good thing is that there will be around 2hrs of downtime during the porting.
    - When can I make a porting request?
- You can make a porting request if you have an active connection that is at least 90 days old, no payments outstanding to the leaving operator and no requests pending for change of ownership of the number.
    - Where can I find a Vodafone MNP form?
- MNP forms will be available along with the CAF/CIF form at all Vodafone Stores and channel partner outlets.
    - Can Prepaid subscribers port their numbers?
- Yes, they can. Existing Prepaid subscribers can request either Prepaid or Postpaid services with the recipient operator.
    - What happens to my Prepaid balance?
- Sadly all your prepaid credit will expire upon successful porting and will not be carried forward.
    - Can Postpaid subscribers port their numbers?
- Existing Postpaid subscribers can request either Prepaid or Postpaid services with the recipient operator after clearing all the dues.
    - Can numbers be ported across circles?
- No, porting is only available within each circle. So if you have an Airtel number in Karnataka then you cannot request for MNP for Vodafone A.P.
    - Will I get a new SIM card when I join Vodafone/port my number?
- Yes, new Vodafone SIM cards will be issued to you when you make your porting requests.
    - How long will I be without service while my existing SIM card is deactivated and my Vodafone SIM card it activated?
- The maximum period of 'No Service' is two hours as defined by the regulator.
    - How are subscribers informed about SIM activation/deactivation during porting?
- Subscribers are intimated via SMS about the date and time of porting. Your old SIM will be deactivated within one hour of the stated time of porting. Your new Vodafone SIM card will be activated within two hours of the stated porting time.
    - Can a subscriber submit a porting request to more than one operator at the same time?
- Yes, you can make multiple requests but only the request that was made first will be cleared by the Mobile Clearing House.
    - Can I decide the date and time on which the number will be ported?
- No, you cannot dictate when the number should be ported. Upon receiving the porting request, the recipient operator will send it for processing. You will be informed once the porting validation is completed and the new SIM card is activated.
    - How frequently can a number be ported?
- You can port a number only after completing at least 90 days (from activation) with the existing operator.
