Error-678,bsnl broadband DSL  Remote system not responding error 678 dial up

Error-678: Remote system not responding.
This usually happens with the Non-Configured modems. Or when a dialer is used after configuring the modem.
1.   Switch off and Switch on the modem.

2.   The information on the dialer might have been corrupted.  Delete and retype the username and password in the respective textboxes of the dialer and try to connect again.

3.   Delete the dialer and create a new dialer.

If you are using Windows XP - Try the following:

Click on the Start Menu and then select Run. In the Open text box which appears, type the word command in order to open the command prompt and then click OK. In the black command prompt window, type netsh interface ip reset log.txt and click on Enter on your keyboard. Then type exit into the command prompt and then click on Enter on your keyboard. Now restart your computer and reconnect to the Internet.

If the problem persists then it is better to configure the modem
